This policy explains how Yum Eats (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Yum Eats mobile app or this website at yumeats.app.
Who we are
Yum Eats is a shopping and cooking app. For privacy questions, email hello@yumeats.app.
Information we collect
Account sign-in (Firebase Authentication)
You create an account with an email address and password. Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase stores your email address and a hashed password. We use that email to identify your account, send account-related messages, and respond if you contact us.
App data (Cloud Firestore)
After you sign in, your app data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and tied to your user account. That can include:
- Pantry items and custom ingredients
- Shopping lists
- Recipes you save or create, including notes and related images you add
- Preferences such as measurement units, dietary choices, and cooking settings
We store this so the app can sync across your devices and show your pantry, lists, and recipes when you open it.

- Optional in-app feedback
- Subscription status from Apple or Google if you buy a paid plan (we do not receive your full card number)

We do not sell your personal information.
Processors we rely on
Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore are operated by Google. If you upload recipe images, those files may be stored in Firebase Storage. Payments, if offered, are processed by Apple or Google through their store accounts.
Account deletion
You can delete your Yum Eats account in the app. That removes your Firebase Authentication account and the Firestore data stored for your pantry, recipes, shopping lists, and preferences. See the account deletion page for step-by-step instructions. If you cannot use the app, email hello@yumeats.app from the address on the account.
How long we keep data
We keep account and app data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify that data as soon as reasonably possible, and within 30 days, unless we must keep a limited record (for example a support email or a legal obligation).
Security
Access to your Firestore documents is restricted to your signed-in account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong unique password.
Children
Yum Eats is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. The current version will always be posted at yumeats.app/privacy/.
